With some thought, this post for me, is more of an answer to yesterday's "Blank Canvas." The room that I'm standing in has a really sweet appeal to it's space. A very mild application of line and design made a step in the right direction to what could have been a beautiful Art Deco Foyer. It appears, however, the design was abandoned in favor of functionality and thus left the room with more of an early-90's airport terminal feel.
So originally, this was a self portrait in a space, with lots of space, but that other comment that I wrote above, it's a seperate thread of thought that diverges from the self-portrait aim of the photo and explores a different avenue. I just wanted to throw that out there for clarity. I realize that the project is still about self portaits.
Actually, this is EXACTLY the kind of thing I was hoping for. What a contrast with the cramped pantry where I eat my lunch. From a design point if view: who ever thought that 70's lounge furniture would ever somehow fit into that stylish room?
You should see the lights in the ceiling... They're pretty cool. I don't know if it was intentional, but the lights display patterns of clouds and lightning bolts while the entire building is for the Electrical Engineering department.
